Content removal requests

// see something that shouldn't be up? here's how to get it looked at.

Whether it's harassment, someone's private information, impersonation, or your copyrighted work — this page explains how to ask for content to come down, and what happens after you do.

Fastest path

Report it in the app.

In-app reports go straight into the moderation queue and are the quickest way to get content reviewed.

1

Find the content

Open the post, comment, listing, or profile you want reviewed.

2

Tap the three-dot menu

Every piece of content has one. Choose Report.

3

Pick a reason and send

That's it. You'll get a notification in the app when your report has been reviewed.

Formal requests

Takedown requests by email.

Not a member, or the situation needs more than a tap? Send a formal request to support@toctalk.app. We accept takedown requests about:

Harassment & bullying

Content that targets, threatens, or degrades a person.

Defamation

False statements of fact presented as true that damage someone's reputation.

Impersonation

Accounts or posts pretending to be you or someone else.

Private information

Someone's personal details — address, phone number, photos of them — shared without consent.

Copyright & IP

Your copyrighted work, trademark, or other intellectual property used without permission.

Anything else unlawful

If it's illegal or violates our Terms of Service, we want to know about it.

What to include

Help us find it and judge it fairly.

The more of this your email includes, the faster we can act on it.

1

The content itself

A link to the post or listing if you have one, or a screenshot. Enough detail that we can find exactly what you mean.

2

Who you are

Your name and how the content affects you — for example, that it's about you, impersonates you, or uses your work.

3

Why it should come down

In plain terms — which of the categories above it falls under, and the facts that support it.

4

For copyright claims only

Also include: identification of the copyrighted work you say is infringed; a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner; and your physical or electronic signature.

What a notice needs

Everything under “For copyright claims only” above: the work you own, the material you say infringes it and where to find it, your contact details, a good-faith statement, an accuracy statement under penalty of perjury, and your signature. Incomplete notices slow everything down.

Counter-notice

If your content came down over a copyright claim, send a counter-notice to the same agent: your contact details, identification of what was removed and where it was, a statement under penalty of perjury that it came down by mistake or misidentification, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court where you live.

Repeat infringers lose their accounts — see section 10 of the Terms of Service.

What happens next

A real person reviews every request.

Review timeline

We aim to respond to every takedown request within 7 days. Urgent safety issues get looked at faster.

Possible outcomes

Content may be removed or restricted, the poster may face account action, or — if the content doesn't violate our rules or the law — it may stay up. Either way, we'll tell you what we decided.

Counter-notice

For copyright claims, the person whose content was removed can send a counter-notice to the same address. If they do, we'll review it and may restore the content as the law allows.

One process for everyone

Employers don't get a special channel.

TOCTalk is an independent app — not affiliated with or controlled by any employer. If a company wants content removed, it goes through exactly the process on this page, is judged by the same standards, and gets the same answer anyone else would. Being upset about what employees say on their own time is not, by itself, a reason content comes down.
